Last night my uncle stopped by my place with his G35, i was razzin him the whole time he was over about how bad id whoop him (just to get him to race). Hes always beein into the euro feeling sports cars (his last car was a boxter). He said theres no way id win in that american boat of mine. 10 min later were rollin down the hwy lookin for a light to grab. We got one, and the other side turns yellow, and he tries to get a roll on me, im like...unha, no! lol, so he stops, our light turns green, i give it about 1/2 throttle for a half a sec so i can hold traction, then i floor it. Tires still spinnin im neck and neck with him for about 2 seconds, and as soon as he hits that 1-2 shift, i took off like a bolt. My tires grabbed, my butt slammed into the seat real good, and with him clutching to shift, i blast about 2 cars on him by the time we hit 50ish (i didnt leave first gear :) ).

KILL!

Seems sometimes the G35 can be good for a really low 14 second pass with the 6 speed? You said his was the stick?

yeah it was the 6 spd stick, i think he bogged a bit though. was a nice kill though

i beat g35's all the time on the highway. On the 1/4 they are usually faster, but they have no top end :)

A G35 has more top end than a stock Mark VIII. My friend let me race his 05 5 speed auto G35 sedan at the track and there is no way a stock Mark VIII can hang. Good kill on a badly driven G35...

a G35 does NOT have more top end than a mark viii - I routinely beat them on the highway, and my car is stock, except for the air reservoir mod. I doubt I ran into bad drivers every time, and top speed really isn't a driver's race....

do not forget he has an LMS tranny now. so i guess you can say he is technically not stock?

g35 are ok, having drove one i feel that they are in the same class as the lincoln

from a stop it was not nearly much of a challenge.

btw, anyone know the 1/4s on them cars?

The sedans have 10 hp less and actually run quite a bit slower than 10 hp would suggest. So if it were a sedan I can imagine the outcome was about right, especially if he bogged it. A well driven g35 coupe should have run circles around your mark. A 14.0 would be about as good as they get stock with a 6spd.

Why can't anyone just be happy? everytime I hear about kill stories people compare specs of cars or the famous "Well, he had to be a crappy driver" maybe if you guys actually street raced you would believe more

Good Job MrWilson

i've only ever raced the coupes....

so i guess its safe to say your uncle realizes that "boat" has some balls,
he obviously thought he would leave you in his mirror, even with a little bog he thought his Rice Cooker was all that

GOOD ONE WILSON

Nice kill. You haters quit flaming him, it discourages others from boasting, and that's what this forum is about, right?

I'm not hatin, just being realistic. The 05 Sedans and Coupes have 280hp/270tq in the auto, weighing just under 3400lbs. The sedan is actually around the same weight as the coupe. The 05 Sedan 6 speeds are 298hp. 67 Continental, I don't doubt that you have beat a couple G35's on the freeway but you wouldn't if I was driving them. That's all i'm gonna say about this...

More than a couple, and the drivers were trying hard. Above 110 MPH, I don't see how it's "driver's race" - how would that be possible?

And not all G35 coupe's are created equal - 2003 and 04 G35's only had 280 hp from a v6 in the coupe, and 260 in the sedan - hardly unrealistic for me to have beaten a 280 hp V6 on the highway - and I didn't stop after dusting them off to ask for their registration to find out what year the car was.

When there is a manual transmission involved, it definatly becomes a drivers race.
