OK, I'm going to install my system this morning and need help on running the wires. With the battery in the trunk that part is simple. My question is about running the rca and remote wires... Do I need to remove the back seat? If so, how? Is there an easier way on this car? ('00 LS) I've got experience installing stereos, but every new car is a new challenge... All advice and opinions welcome!

Edit: I searched but couldn't find anything...

I have a 2000 as well. When I did mine, I ran the RCA cable and the remote wire under the trunk trim molding that is there when you fold down the seat. I took the wire down to the carpet and ran it under there. Then I removed all the plastic moldings on the floor (with the LS on them) and kept running the wire all the way to the front. I removed the fuse box cover under the glove box and ran it to the back of the stereo.

the rear seat is simple to remove, there is two latches on the front if you look under the rear seat from the front. Just press those in and the seat pops right out, takes 10 seconds to remove the rear seat with no tools

My rear seats fold down. I'm not sure if they all do or not. I ran the wiring up along the side of the base of the rear seat, folded the back of the seat down and ran it through under the carpet. This could not have been easier.

Do you have factory or aftermarket HU?

If you're running the factory HU you might want to look for another remote. I tapped into a switched hot in the drivers rear side of the trunk behind the carpet. I can get more info on which color wire etc.. if you are interested...

I'm kinda interested in this. I am looking to run the wires and instal everything the easiest way possible. I was given the impression that esay wasnt in the equation if you kept the factory HU

My amp has high level inputs, I tapped into the wiring harness for the rear door speakers, ran those to the Amp in the trunk. I didn't pull the door panels either. I pulled the panel between the front and rear doors and tapped into the rear door harness there. It was no problem. If yours doesn't have high level inputs you can buy LOC's. (Line Out Convertors)

Speaker Wires
The left rear door speaker wires: WH/VT (White with Violet stripe) is + and GY/WH (Grey with White stripe) is -.
The right rear door speaker wires: WH (White) is + and all GY (Grey) is -.

Remote Wire
Trunk 12V switched hot that I and others have used for the remote is a YELLOW\BLUE wire in a large connector on drivers side of trunk behind carpet. Just splice into this or use a Scotch-Lock connector and run the remote wire you need off of this. The amp runs whenever the car is on, not just when the stereo is on, but my Kicker KX300.2 hasn't had any trouble with it.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. Also I'm running (temporarily) a Kenwood Excelon CD player I had lying in my closet. Planning on a pioneer dvd at some point. I have a new question... I installed a Pioneer Premier TSW-3002SPL 12" sub (competition dvc 2ohm 1000 watts rms) in a slot ported box with a hifonics "Titan" class-d amp pushing 1000 watts @ 1ohm. While this setup will take your breath away, it's not tight bass. I realize that a sealed box will help, but I'm having a hard time finding a box for 1 12" that will fit under the rear deck. I do use my trunk! Any suggestions?

I found a nice box at mobile one that fits really good under my trunk. the box really makes my p2 thump I can move it all the way up to the seat.:)
