If you tried to put a Gen1 intake unto Gen2 heads, there would be a BIG problem. Now, 1999 Lincoln Continental (maybe other years) has some adapter plates to mate the Gen1 intake to the C-heads, but like some have already said, you'd be better off with a 96-98 Cobra Intake and the gains are better with the Cobra intake (I've seen dyno graphs of 15 hp gains).

I know this had nothing to do with your Gen1 intake on a Gen2 Mark, I just had a brain fart.....

(image deleted because I had a dumba** attack.)

But I'm still right that you can use C-Heads with the adapter plates off the Conti (though that has nothing to do with the OPs question)...

pretty sure that's a c head. which is not on any mark viii's.

Yea, it can be done, but no, it will not be worth it, instead do a Cobra intake swap, as everyone else is suggesting.

Yup, that is no doubt a C head.

Not to mention, you need a shorter throttle cable for a Gen 1 intake, as well as a shorter and relocated cruise control cable.

Say what?

Oh, I thought the Gen2 had a similar head to a C-Head and grabbed the pic at random.

I didn't know they still had the B-Heads on them, I don't have a Gen2; I guess I should have known because the 96-98 Cobra has a B-Head.

Brain fart on my part - sorry about that! I fixed my original post.....

It's all good. Honest mistake. Now the upper intake ports on the Gen1 are different than the Gen2s since the design of the primaries on the Gen1 intake are different. So if a person does the Cobra intake swap onto a Gen1 for example, that would necessitate the need for the newer IMRCs. The Cobra intake is a much easier and more logical swap for a Gen2. So yeah, it would be a big mess OP.

A Gen1 IMRC looks different on the top side where the primaries are and transitions to the other port design where they meet the block. Gen2 IMRCs have the same port design top to bottom because the port design at the intake (stock or Cobra) matches the port design at the block.
