I have a 98 gen 2 ,can I swap out the intake from a gen 1 or is it a big mess.
Ill keep it simple, no.
big mess. Think cobra intake.
If you tried to put a Gen1 intake unto Gen2 heads, there would be a BIG problem. Now, 1999 Lincoln Continental (maybe other years) has some adapter plates to mate the Gen1 intake to the Gen2 heads, but like some have already said, you'd be better off with a 96-98 Cobra Intake and the gains are better with the Cobra intake (I've seen dyno graphs of 15 hp gains).

The only reason to change out the Gen 1 intake is to replace it with a large air pump.:shifty:
