Help,
Interior light came on this morning on the way to work, I opend and closed the drivers door the auto lock clicked the light went off, few minutes later the lights came back on, Not shutting the doors wont turn them off

Helppppppppp

I did a search on interior lights, Dome lights, inside lights, can cant find it

I promise I did,.......not my lazy self on this one. I had to pull my battery cable at work so not to kill my battery

no my door ajar isnt on when the lights come on. Upon slamming my door hard I got them to go off once, as the auto lock clicked. but a few minutes later the lights came on no door ajar, the doors are closed tight, shoot I even got to work closed the door key off and pulled and they stayed on had to pull the cable

There are two sensors. One from dome light and one for door ajar. The one for dome lights is up at the jam with a rubber surrounding. Easy to spot but thats all I know. I am not sure how easy it is to get to and maybe replace.

There are 2 sensors? Hmm. Never seen the "light" sensor in the door jamb. Then again, I never looked for one.

Yes. With key out the lights will stay on based on the door latch sensor. If the key is in the run position and the jam switch is depressed the lights will go out. At least on a Gen 1. I just checked to make sure I was not mixing them up.

I have a 2008 MKZ where the dome lights and exterior welcome lights would not turn off. The dash does not indicate any doors or trunk are ajar. I sprayed the drivers door latch with degreaser and locked/unlocked the car several times using the fob. I then sprayed ftpe lubricant in the latch (no greasy buildup, does not attract dust). This seems to have resolved the issue for today.
