Just wanted to run this by everyone to confirm my though.

With the new motor swap it would occasionally not start when warm. There would be no spark while cranking and then all the sudden it would work. My thought is the crank angle sensor is bad since thats the only spark trigger I know of on the car.
There is not an Anti-Theft light so I can rule that out.
Not sure if the cam angle sensor controls spark or not but I guess I could try that first since its 100x easier to swap and I have one.

So does anyone agree with my diagnosis that the intermittent no spark issue is a bad crank angle sensor?

BTW, it wont start at all now.

Crankshaft position sensor you mean. And yes this was the problem with my red one. Ocassionally it would lose all fire and then regain it.

OMG thank you!!

Yes it's your Crank Position Sensor, which is why I wanted to put one in when you came to my shop last week...much easier on the lift...and I had the tool I needed, and you told me no..it's like a retard slapping match!

The crank sensor in my garnett car came out in two pieces. I did it in the driveway in less then an hour. It is either gonna be the cps or the ignition module box thingy. Do second gens have those? Either way I would shoot for the 23.00 dollar part first.

What tool do you have spper? I used a 8 or 10mm wrench. After I pulled the compressor to the side.

I think it's the ignition control module?

He means ratcheting box wrench. I dont have a small one. With the sway bar that wrench would make the compressor easier to pull but I can get away without it.

Get an 8mm ratchet and pull your a/c clutch off, make sure you don't lose the shims. Then use a pair of snap ring pliers to pull the a/c pulley and field coil off. This is only if you can't get to the a/c compressor bolts...

Fortunately my Addco sway bar didn't come with locking rings so I was able to slide the bar over enough to get out of the way.
Job took about and hour cause my trans lines are run a bit different with the trans cooler and then the big ass sway bar was all limiting where I could squeeze my arm up in there. On top of that some ass hat (me) really tightened down the AC compressor pretty tight using a larger wrench. Since I could only fit a 5" long 10mm wrench in there it made things a PITA to loosen but I got it. Fortunately I remembered I bought a set of ratcheting wrenches a few months ago and had just kinda forgot I had them so that made backing out the bolts MUCH easier.
So anyway, I got AC moved and swapped in the other sensor and cranked her up. I let it idle till it got nice and hot and then shut her down. I have tried several times now and it always fires right up so I hope that fixed the issue.

BTW, I swapped the cam angle sensor last night just to see if it did anything. It didn't.
