Just a quick question. I just did two tests one at speedtest and one at speakeasy look how different?

I just got the power boost deal from comcast for free and it is better but not 3 times like they claim. Just curious as to what tests other comcast users come up with?

At home on the first test I've come up with up to 32k download and like 5500 upload (I think), but it changes drastically all the time.

I also use comcast.
At speakeasy I got 25569 kpbs dl
5721 kpbs ul.
When comcast took over time warner here in the twin cities the first thing they did was kill your up load speed.
I was pissed.
Went to DSL...that sucks too.

Sooner or later i will be going to fiber optic.
Can't afford 60 bucks a month for the net right now.

Does it say up to xxx amount of speed? Thats where most companies screw you.

I have been with Verizon. Im switching now that I have the chance since I moved but for the last year I found out Im only using 30 something percent of the speed I should be entitled to. I talked to them about it and they said " well it says speeds up to XXX so you are getting what you pay for "

Believe it or not but I found that optimizers like the ones from Uniblue work. People rant and complain about them not getting better service but thats not the point. The point is to optimize so you get the speeds you should be getting. People feel that somehow they will help you get more out of the connection then possible.

On upload you are very close. I would venture to say that in both tests you used the same city and that is why you feel there is something that is not up to par. I have been tracking speed for several years as I am on a former Adelphia cable system, it is now Time Warner, and it is not uncommon to see some wild swings in download swings because of network traffic. I would keep a log of your test and then contact your IP if you still keep coming up short.
