i bought a ipod nano for my 11 year old daughter and itunes are a dollar a piece....crazy expensive so my question can other audio be uploaded to the ipod or does it have to be itunes???, i think Napster has a 14.95 unlimited downloads per month. will this work with ipod?????????

Napster downloads will probably work with iPod as long as it allows you to download them as .mp3 format.
You can also rip any CD you have in your collection onto your computer and into your iPod. Another way to get .mp3's is through Bit Torrent download. They are free that way but typically require more searching. There are lots of sites/programs that allow you to download Torrent files which contain anything from pics to songs to movies to software.... just be wary of any executable file you download cause it could contain a virus.

happy hunting.

no you can DL any music rip CD's nd load onto ipod, you MUST use itunes to do so but itunes is free, limewire is a good P2P site theres a bunch out there. If you have a list of music she wants PM it and ill DL em and send it to ya

When downloading music from any place other than itunes, I save all downloads to a folder in my doicuments, then open the itunes program, and import that folder to the itunes library.
Bob.

As long as the music isn't DRM'd using something iTunes can't understand (eg, DRM'd WMAs) and it's in a format the iPod can understand (like MP3), you can load it onto the iPod. iTunes can also rip CDs, so you can load the music from any CDs you own.

If you want a great source of legit, DRM-free music, try Amazon's MP3 Store ( http://www.amazon.com/MP3 ). Their downloader program will even put the downloaded music into iTunes for you.
