Iranian Holocaust Cartoon Contest

My favorite part is "This is our response to the Danish press depicting Mohammed"... WTF do the Danish have anything to do with the holocaust or Jews for that matter? Where's the connection?

Another thing worth mentioning, the guy claimed that anyone who denies the
holocaust is punished. Last time I checked Jews don't riot when people express anti-Jewish hate speech, unlike the Muslims calling for the Popes head, murdering a nun, burning churches and acting like barbarians because the Pope quotes a 14th century passage.

It occured to me when watching the movie... the entire act of denyin the holocaust is part of the bigger scheme. The Irans, and many other Muslims, are now arguing that the creation of Israel was the result of guilty Europeans responding to the holocaust.

I guess, if you carry their logic over, if the holocaust was a fraud, then the creation of Israel was a sham. Thus, they're justified in "destroying this deceitful nation built on a fraud."

It only gets more disgusting the more you look at it.

And the obvious thing to note: No one held riots in response to that ridiculous Iranian exhibit.

How ridiculous to use pejorative cartoons as a means to debate historical claims. Obviously, the cartoons are really nothing more than another disgusting means to spew more Jew hatred and fulfil a lust for revenge in whatever form it can be attained.

I note the part when he said:
"Our main theme has to do with boundaries of free speech in the west. We ask why so little attention is paid to the affront to divine religions, while we witness strange phenomena like the Holocaust.” (at 1:30)

However, it's not a problem in Iran to make fun of or criticize Christianity and Judaism or any other non-Muslim religion. Give me a break! What Hypocrites!

But can you think of a more effective way to influence and reinforce the perceptions of the brainwashed population? Cartoons are accessible to everyone, from the illiterate to the rich. To the Nigerian muslim to the Brazilian American hater to the Saudi unemployed man who can't get a wife. It translates for all of them.

Think about all the great cartoons that were published in America dehumanizing the Germans and Japanese during WW2 here.

It's obviously not a social protest, it's essentially reinforcement. It's framing the debate within the world. I think the West missed the point on this story. They seem to think it's just a distasteful razz, but it's much more sinsiter than that.

I wouldn't worry to much about it, the best thing anyone can do is not be offended and not take action against it. The next time Muslims go in a rampage because someone draws a picture that says "Mohammed" this can be used as an example to show their ass-backwards behavior for what it is.

I don't know about you, but seeing terrorists beheading Americans on video seriously offends me and I'll take action against it if it will make us safer.

Sitting around with your head in the sand is exactly the attitude that brought about 9/11. These people aren't just looking to be noticed. They want to kill us. We are in a war. The very act of not publishing something because we're afraid of their reaction means we've capitulated and they've won.

I don't know about you Fossten... Where do you get me saying 'do no worry about a cartoon' as being 'do not worry about murder'?

I seriously think it's a mistake to think this is simply the Iranian government trying to "make a point" or offend anyone.

This is propoganda. This is way to legitamize their destruction of Israel. They are undermining the legitamacy of the holocaust. This is consistant with everything the Iranians have been saying. They are challenging Israeli's right to exist, based on their false claim, that Israel was simply the response to appease European Jews after the war...

This is far more sinsister that a cartoon contest or a slap in the face. This is propoganda and brainwashing.
