I have a 2001 Lincoln LS with 142K miles. I recently took a trip and the drive was about six hours, car ran great until my last gas stop on the way back started to shake a lot and engine light came on. Long story short had it checked out and I was told it has low compression on the back cylinders and the heads might have cracked. So did some research and to fix the engine it might cost around 2,000 or to replace it with a rebuilt engine around 3,000
so my question is .. Is it worth to fix it or should I just look into getting a new car? I would not mind fixing it its a really nice car but dont want it to just break months later and have to spend even more money.

We really can't tell you if it is worth it or not. That, my friend, is up to you. Do you feel it is worth it to fix?

All cars have things break. No matter what car you have you will have to replace/fix the engine eventually if you keep it long enough.

Personally, I would replace it, but I have an emotional attachment to my LS and plan on keeping it forever.
