If you are tired of it being slow add a 3200 stall and some 4.30's. It will not be slow anymore.
 
ahh you guys got me ;) nah im just done with this mark, sure i loved it from the day i brought it home but when it comes to bieng a 17 year old, a v8 is not the answer, no i mnot gunna go buy a honda and rice it all out but more than likely will be a 4 banger :( srry guys i let yee down
 
The Mark VIII was not made to appeal to the lowest common denominator, or to blend in with the rest of the herd. So you're definitely better off selling it if you're so concerned about "the answer" to fitting in with your peers.

See here is where you could learn a valuable lesson in building a tranny. and make it do things that you want it to do. Looks like you got the space you need to work (some of us don't have the luxury of space to work in). With the correct rebuld kit and converter you would have and feel the power you think you need IMO
 
When i was 17 i wanted a Trans AM with a 6.6 liter engine that would smoke the tires of the car. :cool:
 
actually the 2nd gens with 6.6 run 15.8 in the quarter and are actually pretty slow compared to the marks
 
uhh. im 17. i wont touch nething thats not an 8. kids at skool respect my 5.0 stang. now that my marks on the road, they'll learn to respect that next year, when i get called out.
 
78 TA's with the W78 400 were good for 15.1 quarter in a 4 speed car stock. Only 220 net horsepower, but a buttload of torque. Mine is balanced and blued, mild headwork, Holley 780, fairly mild cam, and makes 425 gross hp, but over 400 lbsft of torque from 2000 to 6500 rpms.

Man I'm 17 and wouldn't give up the Class Style and Power of the Mark I mean ya it F'n annoying with all these hater I run into in this hell whole but these machines kick ass in my opinion I agree I would love it to be faster but thats where the fun kicks in cause you put in work to see resaults AKA SPEED. But I respect you decision b/c I went out bought a 4 bang couple monts ago but then sold it right away put it into the Mark.
 
Who makes a charger that will give us 500 hp? And what does that cost? Yo!
