That is tite! I think I'll do that conversion to mine also! It should add some value to the car for re-sale purposes. Don't ya think?

It ought to increase the value by at least $15. The A/C in my Pantera could use a recharge, maybe I'll just retrofit this to it. ;)

They just sold a 74 Detomaso Pantera at this auction I was at for 25,500 Cash lol They are worth upwards into the 80's arent they?

Re: Pantera

You can get one needing some work for $25,000, but yes it takes quite a bit more to get a good one. And parts aren't exactly cheap.

Example: For a complete set of new door handles/locks it is around $800. For a new Transaxle it's $10,000+, a rebuilt one will bring $6,500+. Better not get a crack in the windshield, a new one is $1,500. Lord help you if you need any body parts, a new decklid will bring $5,000+, fenders are $1,500 EACH, Quarter panels $3,000 EACH. The list goes on and on.

You wanna know the sick thing about it all? It's worth it!! If you shop around you can get a really nice driver for around $35,000-$45,000; that's a whole lot smarter than buying a new Vette or BMW that is going to be worth 1/2 of what you paid for it in a couple of years.

There are few other cars you can leave a stop sign in 3rd gear (bearly slipping the clutch) and leave it there as you quickly accelerate to 108 mph! And the sound of a 351 Cleveland at full tilt just inches from you (their mid-engined) accompanied by the quiet whine of the ZF transaxle (the same one they used in the original GT40) is intoxicating.

I think I need a cigarette :)

a friend of mine in high school had one, there was no real way to describe it, rode in it alot, but he never let me drive it..........................damn
