If anyone has even heard of Star Trek, they should know who Mr. Scott was "Scotty". The actor who played Scotty in Star Trek the original series and the motion pictures has passed away at the age of 85. I think he will always be remembered by the words "Beam me up Scotty" Usually said by Captain Kirk.

It's a sad day for Sci-fi fans :(

RIP James Doohan.

Aye Aye Captain!! But he's a Klingon!!

Scotty was the best of the best!!! His episode on Star Trek the Next Generation is one of my favorites.... And a true Scott Tail...Episode 130 "Relics"

Thanks Conti

RIP Commander Scott..

I've always loved the line "I can't do it captain!! I don't have the power!!" :monkey:

I was always a big fan of all of the different "Star Trek" series, but the original was still my all time favorite.

I had read somewhere that Mr. Doohan had been suffering from Alzheimer's for quite some time. I am very sorry to see him pass on. I loved the character, Montgomery Scott, that he played.

As an aside, I hear that he and Bill Shatner were on non-speaking terms even when the original series was being shot. As I understand it, neither one could stand the other yet that never came through on screen. I guess that just goes to show how professional both men were as actors.

Rest in peace, Mr. Doohan.

Oh no, not Scotty. I liked his famous lines, too.

He was great...
