I found the sight of this beauty at a junkyard, and I still can't reason as to why the owner trashed the car. The body was 9/10. This was white, with a factory spoiler AND a manual transmission. I was really debating as to whether I should actually buy off the shell and transmission and just swap my 3.0 into this one (since covers and manifold is missing). *sigh*

Are you sure it's a manual or is it just have a shift boot on the shifter? You know, that's a thing nowadays.

You could always pull the spoiler off and send it to me :shifty:

The unknowns would scare the hell out of me.

It's not a factory spoiler. For starters, OEMs delete the interior high brake light when they put one in the spoiler. As far as I know, the only factory spoilers are the two flat LSE pieces. That's just a well-fitting spoiler from another car. The 98-02 Accord coupe spoiler seems to have been a popular donor model (though it's not this one).

Anyway, yes it's a manual; the leather dips in around the base and looks like a manual shift boot, not an inflated leather bag of air :p

Looks like a Manual Sport... that's gotta be rare, right? No chrome on bumpers, no wood on steering wheel. But what's the deal with the 16" rims? I saw another one a week ago around me with the same thing. No chrome, no wood, SST, and 16 inchers. Is it a 2000 Sport thing?

Actually Frank, if I'm not mistaken I do believe that is a true (ugly) Lincoln LS spoiler.

The double high brake light makes me really doubtful, but I could be wrong...

Regardless, I think most spoilers on the LS look wrong. This style says "base brand" in my opinion. Have you seen a factory plastic spoiler this thick on the 3 Germans, 2 Japanese, or Cadillacs in the last 10-25 years? They're all pretty much lips, blades, or lip/extensions (see: LSE). Those M5 lips look out of place from several angles on our cars. Too narrow (because of pear shaped hips) and too far forward (rounded trunk).

But I also think the Wings West looks awkward on Gen 2s. Something about the tail lights. Perfect on Gen 1s though :). Everyone has different taste and I'm just writing out my my thought process so I can convince myself the WW is worth the extra cost lol

I played around with the shifter, so yes it was a manual. One doesn't simply see a manual LS at a junkyard and not play with the shifter.

Alright Rig, I'll eat my shoe some other time.

Izzy, the spoiler rant should help you figure out who I am because I wrote the same thing in the LS group haha (though I can't find it now...)

Edit: Just saw "dealer option". My shoe will remain uneaten

It wouldn't be the first time someone added a factory spoiler to a car that didn't come with one. That would explain the double center stop.
