Picked up this car tonight. The guy said that the right front airbag was replaced but the entire front dropped 2 days later. I can hear rushing air coming from that side. My guess is that they used the old solenoid and that the o-rings are leaking. I will find out for sure this weekend. Other issues are that the horn does not work, Cluster error issues, antenna mast is broken and the trunk pulldown does not work (latch is very loose). On the plus side the air is cold, the leather is in great shape and there is no rust with only 88K. There is no radio but I have a few CD players sitting out in storage so that is not a big deal. I still have not decided whether I want to keep it or sell it when I fix some things. I will get some pics up soon.

I was wrong about the horn, it does work. I forgot that these earlier Fords had tiny horn buttons. All of the power options including memory seats work except for the right front window. The AC was redone with R-134 in December of last year and many of the AC parts are new. The trunk pulldown motor is in pieces so I will replace that as it is farly cheap. The moonroof works well and the car is fully loaded as far as I can tell. I will tear into the air suspension issue Saturday and see what I can come up with. I also need to see if I can fix the mesage center issue. I think that $200 for a running driving sub 90K mile car is good no matter how you cut it.

u made me proud and ur damn right 200 shhoooo i would have got that 1 myself as well..and it looks great 2

Thanks. I have a bad habit of trying to fix up the cars I buy as I hate having anything wrong with them.

I think I might go the pimp route:D I'm really looking for a Mark VIII though this will fill in nicely for a while if I can fix it.

If the O-rings were damaged on the solenoid when it was put in that would let alot of air out, The solenoid is fairly affordable if you doubt the solenoid replace it. Also check the brass collet that the air line goes into there is a O-ring behind it that might be bad, Good Luck.

Talk about scamming the elderly:D nice find, wanna sell it and double your money quick $400.........

Thats a beautiuful find, you are a tribute to essex Conti fans everywhere. Good job man.:Beer That is a rare find indeed a Signature that has two toned color keyed piping on the seats as well. Very very nice.

I really like the seats with the two-tone piping. I just with the Signature Series would of have the bucket seats with the console.

Well I confirmed a few things today, they put the new Arnott strut on the driver side front and left the original on the passenger side. The passenger side is completely shot and has several fairly large holes in it when the strut is decompressed. It will not hold air at all. The driver side one looks brand new, and the compressor looks brand new and is quiet.
I found one that a guy is selling online cheap, it only has a few thousand miles on it and I have made him an offer. I would hate to scrap the air ride for what looks like a simple problem of a worn out strut.
I am going to search next week for a trunk pulldown motor assembly and am going to clean the contacts for the dash.

One quick question, will a 95 hard button unit work in the earlier Continental?

I am not sure about the hard button unit, the Continental Changed body styles in 95 and i am guessing that the electronics changed as well.

I bought one off of eBay last week that was out of a 1996 Continental for my 1994 and it did not work. The plugs all looked the same and everything. The ALLDATA confirmed that the wiring changed in 1995 for the units.
