For you few forced inducted guys whatre you doing about the air assisted injectors? replacing with like SVO injectors or something? I was thinking about either trying to make some sort or centrifugal supercharger setup or twin remote mount turbos, the s/c would be a paxton P600 headunit and id make custom brackets on a milling machine, but im concearned about room under the hood, with the rear mounts im not on par with those, regular setups yes but do i just run oil lines the whole length of the car n such? Thansk and im sure ill come up with some more thoughts and questions..

I am running the typical 39lb 'blue' injectors - I believe they actually flow at 42lbs.

Since I have a custom manifold - it is design to work with standard injectors and I removed all the air-assist stuff (pages about it in the supercharger thread).

I'm not sure how the guys who simply swapped new injectors into the stock manifold sealed up the all the air rail to prevent leaks... hope they chime in.

and yes - rear mounted turbos require oil lines run back to them.

The air to the injectors comes from inside the manifold so the air provision itself isn't a problem. On the other hand, I'm not sure that you can get the 'air design' injectors with the higher flow capacity you'll need for any higher horsepower configuration. And the regular style has a different shape on the 'nose' where it fits into the manifold. It's not a problem I have, because my four litre engine uses the regular style.

You not only have to run oil lines clear to the rear of the car for rear-mount turbos, you also have to positively scavenge the used oil and route it back to the pan. This is commonly done with a small special electric pump. It's also possible to use one of the scavenge sections of a dry sump system.

Alright so what if I just hone the fuel injector bosses so that the SVO injectors fit? Im gonna go check out that post tho to see whats up with this crap, thanks

I wish I read that sooner, 03+ they got rid of the air assist, Ive got an 05', alright well my search continues for that headunit, I chose it for one because its a universal impeller, no matter which way the shaft spins it draws air so more ways to mount it and two, its a pretty compact unit as well but supports about 550hp IIRC..

since you have an 05 LS you will not have to worry about the air-assist stuff. I haven't had a chance to take a close look at the 00-02 air assisted intake manifolds but I believe that there is a way to remedy that situation for bigger non-air assisted injectors. I haven't taken any measurements or had a good look in person but from studying the various pictures people have sent me I think it will be doable. If someone is down near Mississippi and wants to find this out just stop by and I will pull your rails and injectors to verify if what I am thinking is true.

On another note don't forget about upgrading the fuel pump. Most of us that have went forced induction have swapped in a Ford GT supercar pump to support the additional fuel flow that will be required. There are other options besides the GT pump but that usually ends up being the least costly and easiest drop in.
