What's up men. Alright here's the problem... Me and my friend are trying to figure out the deal with K&N panel filters and cleaning/re-oiling. Do you only re-oil the outside of the filter, A.K.A. the side that the dirty air is coming from, or do you oil both sides? I'm saying just the one side. Anybody on this one?

My vote is for one side (out/snorkel/intake side) only. Based on audio instructions for cleaning:

http://www.knfilters.com/audio/08 Cleaning Your K&N Air Filter.mp3

And written instructions:

http://www.knfilters.com/clningins.htm

Seems to say to oil the outside and rinse from the inside.

That's what I was thinking. I love your car by the way.

I have K&Ns on my wife's 2000 Stang (over 100K)and my 98 LSC always oil the outside, never, ever the inside, it will eventually coat your MAF and screw it up.

Clean and dry the filter. Lightly spray the OUTSIDE only and install. Be very careful about how much oil you spray because it can coat the wire on the MAF sensor and cause drivability issues. NEVER, EVER coat the inside...it will be all over your MAF sensor in a heartbeat....

Do you let it bleed through to the other side? Or leave the inside clean?

You give the outside a LIGHT even coat! That's it! If you put too much on there, it will coat your MAF sensor wire.

When going from stock K&N drop in to the K&N cone, do you really notice a difference on gas milage, acceration, sound?

Do you mean from the stock restricted airbox with a K&N panel to a thing such as a KKM induction? If so, yes theres a noticable sound and gas mileage, not really noticable acceleration but moreso throttle response.
