I canNot stand the key in ignition chime! I don't want to just stab/disconnect the speaker behind the instrument cluster because I want to hear the alarm if something goes wrong. Can I just disconnect the key sense wire on the ignition switch wiring harness or will that also affect something else, like my car not starting? Wiring has never been my forte so I appreciate any help I can get!

You can disconnect the key sense if you don't use the easy entry/exit feature.

I'll have to do that... When I had the gauges out, I glued a piece of conically shrunken shrink tube into the chimer hole to mute it. The side affect is warnings/messages are muted and some of the longer tones sound distorted.

Is it a single plug or is it part of a larger plug? I looked in the manual but only see things about removing the cylinder from the assembly. What I did see is that this will disable the autounlock when you press a lock button with a key in the ignition, since the car won't know it's there. So to amend what you said,

"You can disconnect the key sense if you don't use the easy entry/exit feature and typically remember to take your keys."
