Keyfob will not open trunk

Keyfob locks and unlocks doors but will not open trunk. The codes on the door panel unlock front and back doors but will not open the trunk either.

If I unlock the trunk using the key, the pull down motor will latch the trunk closed.

Any ideas?

I say the truck release has gone bad. Check the fuses and connections, also does the button in the glove box open it?

If it does it could be a problem with the keypad/keyless remote system. You might have to replace the system box for it if the button in the glove box does work.

I have the exact same problem right now, it's a common problem. but simple. In the trunk you will see a wire going from the left side of the trunk near the lift bar. check it and see if there is any dust or dirt in it. The plastic protector on the wire sucks so dirt gets in real easy. Mine does it all the time. I just clean around the wire and connections and my trunk is back tom working again. Just to let you know, if the wire is completely shot for some reason. You can still open the trunk with the key but not with the glove comp. button, key fob, or pad. Clean the connections and let us know if it fixes the prob. and good luck.

Key fob does not open trunk

I cleaned the wire connections and the trunk will now close automatically again but the key fob still does not open the trunk. All I hear is a clicking sound when I push the key fob button.
