Hi, I just purchased an 04 Towncar, it did not come with any books or keyless code, does anyone know where the code is on this car, i've looked on the trunk hindges and near the latch, and on what i think is the computer module but could not find it, i would be thankful for any help.

thanks

my continental said in the owners manual their is one in the trunk, glovebox and under the hood. I never looked for them but maybe one of the three is in the same place.

On my 94 it was on a little maybe 1/2" x 1" white paper sticker on the right-hand "arm" of the two arms that attach to the trunk lid and go down to the hinges. It is a 5-digit number.

My 91 Town Car has the same kind of sticker in the same place.

A last resort is to find the keyless entry control module and remove the cover and examine the circuit boards. You can determine the numbers from the placement of five resistors. (And you can change the number by unsoldering and re-wiring the resistors.) A page describing this (including how the resistor placement relates to the number) is here...

My 90 TC and 98 Mark have the white decal on the pass trunk hinge. My neighbors 01 Navi is on a black box up under the driver' side dash -had to move some wire around to see all the numbers.

The decal does not indicate what they are, just 5 numbers.

Hopefully you will have the small sticker on the trunk lid hinge.

If not, you do NOT need to disassemble the keyless entry module.
Remove the driver's door panel, there will be a black module with various numbers on it towards the lower hinge. This is the driver's door module, which besides the keyless, remote keyless features also controls the one touch-down windows, power door locks and communicates with the DSM for mirror and seat memory positioning.
The set of 5 numbers printed in bold font is your factory keyless entry code.

The dealer can also look up the code for you.
