I know this has been talked about here before, but most people have the older LS's with the 252/HP motors. I have a brand new LS with the 280/HP motor and I wanted to post about the KKM intake.
Its a great add on piece anbd takes all of 20 minutes to install. I was expecting to see results that were barely perceptable, or none at all?
The results are actually surprising. Previously, from a dead stand still the car would labor to do a good burn out. Now, after the KKM, it will blaze the tires on command, effortlessly. If it added the advertised 15/HP or so that it claims them I should be ay 295/hp now.
It reall wakes up the motor. There is a slight "swoosh" sound at wide open throttle, but its very subtle. It peps up the engine throughout the RPM range and it pulls hard through the gears. While its a modest HP increase it adds a peppyness to the car that it did not have before.
I'm getting the ECU reprogrammed by Torrie next week and I hope that when I install his new program that I get 15/HP or so. That will put me well over 300. Which was my goal.
My final four modifications are; 1) full chrome grill (Ken Garriosn is taking care of this now for me). 2) Remove the heated water at the throttle body. 3) Add ram air arrangement. 4) Have Torrie reprogram the ECU.
I'm going to dyno the car in Phoenix after its all done to see what I got. I'm hoping for 325/hp.
I only have 1500 miles on nthe car and I love it!
