Alright i know there are a thousand posts about this but i was wondering if theses KKM intakes are really worth putting on the car. I would like to know everything you guys know about theses things please. I want to get one but im just not sure about it and what to expect from it after i get it if i get it.

Thanks

Well if you decide to get one I have one that I ran on my 02 V8 for about 4 months. I took it off when I decided to trade it in for my 06. I am going to be putting one on my current LS as soon as I get around to it. I thought it was worth it. Most people on here do too.
Shameless plug... Make me an offer.

You can hear the intake suck air in when you rev the engine-
It gives a little more uummph to your accelaration-
It helps you get slightly better gas mileage-
Of course other factors affect all of those statements and each car is a bit different. The idea is a less restricted airflow = more air getting to the gas and spark thus more accelaration and better gas mileage.

At the very least, it doesn't hurt! Very pleasant noise. Doesn't add enough to make it the first thing to do with an otherwise stock car. Combo of intake tract and Magnaflow cat-back produces recognizable gain. You'll be happy with the result.

just throw a k and n in it and cut a 12 inch by 8 inch hole in the bottom of the intake box! thats what i did!

well it sounds cool when you mash it, but I want to build something to get the intake temps lower because it can suck hot air in from the engine compartment.

I just completed my 4th, and hopefully, final heat shield. I'm using a 4" K&N filter. I made the shield with light gage galvanized sheet metal and used a 4" filter adapter from the local O'reillys store. The difference is better sound and throttle response, IMO. I had been using a Spectre filter and the new K&N is waaaay better. Next project...Flex-a-Lite 180 electric cooling fan conversion and custom coil covers to house some new granatelli coil packs.....
