I have a 2000 LS8 and here is my situation. When I am driving in town and use moderate acceleration, I notice a knocking sound coming from the engine and when it is at idle and i give it moderate gas. It does it whether or not the car has been running for 2 hours or 2 minutes. It seemed to all start after I got my valve cover gaskets and thermostat replaced. I use premium fuel and have a run a fuel system flush recently. I decided to take a look under the hood and see if there was anything that I could see. The only thing I saw was that there was a little bit of grime around where a hose connects to the valve cover underneath my air tunnel on the passenger side. I also poked my head up over the throttle body. Right after the throttle body, there are two hoses that clamp into the throttle body housing and there seems to be a leak coming from some where around that area because I can move the hoses around and cause the leak to fluctuate. Does anyone have any knowledge on this or any suggestions as to why my car is making this noise? It has me completely stumped. It seems to me as though this could be related to the knock, however, I am not sure........maybe something to do with a vac leak? I have no idea.
