I was just wondering what's the largest size rim you can safely fit on a slammed/lowered LS?

By safely I mean without the tire bumping the wheelwell if you were to hit a pothole or something.

If you play it right I would say 19"s but sometimes that might still be tough with it slammed depending on your area you drive in.

Next to that I would say 18"s, they really wont rub and fit safe like you say but you could go as big as 20"s they will just rub sometimes even at factory height.

If you have the right offset and tire you can go 20'' with no problems.

But your not going to be able to "slam" it, maybe go a bit lower than factory but not slammed at least not safe like how he wants.

I am pretty sure my car is what most people consider slammed and its on 20'' wheels and the rears are 10" wide.

And I remember reading that you had some rubbing your self:) . Remember I said it could be done but not the way he asks of it;) .

Oh and I also recall you had the fenders rolled, not? I would do it like yours in 19's. I love the look you pulled off but like he said, he asks

come on, if you were to really do it right you would have to graduate from those teenage rims first

I would say you could do 20's if you are only doing a minimal drop. Now if you are talking slammed (which means it on the ground) then a 19 with atleast a 45mm offset would do well. I might rub if you have 5 or 6 hundred pounds in the back seat.... but we now that won't happen ;)

lol... that one was creative:) . I just wanna go really low thats why I like 19's, plus sometimes you cant tell the difference.

Well, I honestly just don't dig the DUB scene. But really I do always respect ones opinion and way of expresion,... until they start to bash on me:shifty:

The one thing that makes this a great place for ideas and good friends is that we don't bash each other. I think a thread got modified because of name calling so let's keep a cool head in these posts. I know that ribbing someone or just joking can be mis-understood by others simply because you can not feel the tone in a typed message. So, let's continue to have fun and keep the bad stuff away.

This has to be, without a doubt, one of my favorite LS' I've seen. This is a prime example of 'doing it right'.

:) I think this is a prime example. I didn't call any names in this thread, I am going with it and having fun.

If I have a problem with someone on a thread I leave it on that thread and treat that person as if it never happened in the next.

But some people that really don't do good at making friends here do bash allot of people.:)

Sorry if you felt as if I was trying to bring up bad news Ken, that was not any intentions;)

One of a few of my inspirations!

One day:cool: , I love how he went low, has what I consider OK fitment ( I know perfect would be hard with the LS offset ) But didn't over do any aesthetics with the car. Very Dunright!:D

PS: To me perfect fitment just so you don't get a misconception is when a tire tucks, the car can go super low, and the wheel still sits flush with the fender making most of it if not all of it visible.

Oh and my handle has nothing to do with this forum or my car, its from a,... OK laugh now:D ,... terrarium forum.:p

Dude am in love, I was putting my car back to stock to sell it and that just made me want to keep it. If you have any more pics or specs on this car post them i would really love to see the car in more detail.

Its got Hydraulics, MOMO wheels make I'm not sure and I think they are 20's or bigger from how they tuck. From another pic I found here once a long time ago before I registered its a 1st gen with a LSE kit.

You mean it has air bags?

I didn't direct my thread to anyone in particular. It was a generic message just saying "play nice". It's all good!

no, that car actually had hydrolics, not bags. i remember seeing a video on here about that car and i was impressed with the fact that he had hydrolics rather than the bags. if you open his hood most likely see the inside cut out and see nothing but tire, lol. not really sure about that, he might've had it done professionally, but none-the-less it's something i would like to do as well, maybe bags tho.

well i went and found the thread cuz i knew i had seen it.
here's the video (hope it still works)

and sry to hijack the thread

I found the car its a 2001 ls with the 2006 front end, skirts, and rear bumper hes in art of noize car club club in Arizona. The car is juiced with two pumps four dumps and its been cut to lay, it has 20" momos. I think by far this is the sickest ls i have evr seen but thats just my opinion since i love slammed cars. We should try to get this guy on the site so he can tell us what he had to do to get the car to lay like that.

That's really clean... Wheels are actually pretty tasteful. I'd like to see them when the cars not dropped and the cambers out like that though.
