So I am currently working on making a shifter boot and e-brake boot out of a nice color leather. If I can get the patterns down and make these and other items would you be interested in purchasing. They won't cost much to make, the cost is the material. Although I can use pleather as well, and may work better as it has a little more flex and give to it. This is what I am using for mine.

Also If I can get my upholstery skills good enough i will be doing custom seat covers in a darker and lighter brown two tone. which again if I can work out templates I will be able to make and sell here as low as I can with out taking a hit.

Let me know if you are interested, if not I will not be making templates other than my own use and this will all be one off stuff

Center console covers may sell pretty good. I got one for Christmas for around $40-50. I know a lot of them develop cracks where your elbow rests.

Amen. I had my armrest reupholstered in leather last summer and it was a quick $100 gone. If executed nicely, these would be well worth it for a number of members.

Funny you should mention this. I was just thinking last night how much my ebrake boot irks me. I really don't want to buy another one just to have it crack when its cold again. It was replaced once already when I bought the car in '05. The clip that holds it to the console is busted too so I will have to get creative on fixing that. It may end up permanently adhered. Interested though at least in your more flexible ebrake boot.

I would definitely be interested as well.

And +1 for new covers for the center arm rest. Mine is in need of replacement due to cracking.

My e-brake boot bracket cracked too. I use some JB weld and its almost good as new. Gotta love JB weld

Alright guys, I will be making these and the Armrest. I will warn though, I will probably not be able to get OEM Matched leather so you may have to pick a color that would be a nice accent color to your paint or interior.

So I have made a shifter boot, the e brake boot and a new armrest cover and it looks great I will share pics tomorrow

well here are some pics. eventually the seats will be done with the same leather in the middle and a dark brown on the bolsters

Nice work. Leather is a tough thing to work with. I'd be interested in seeing the seats done for sure. I did suede inserts in my Crown Vic a couple years ago and its was not fun.

Not sure why I never saw it before(in my head), but I now see where my gauges are going and still be able to simply move the cigarette lighter. A little fabricating and I can even keep it looking damn near oem.

Thanks 2002!!!!!! I know it was not your intent but damn you just helped me. :)

You are not far off at all on the interior pieces. Perhaps a bit more tight on the stitching. But actually looks very good for the purpose it serves.

yeah these are the first run and all hand stitched. I will be doing any more with a sewing machine. It took way to long to hand sew all that.

And I am going to redo the gauges so they look more factory. I just used a piece of sheet aluminum at that time about 2 years ago. So the next little project is making that look better.

If done correctly, there is enough room there to make a spring loaded cover for the gauges and laminate it as well. This way they do not have to show at all times. Maybe a cover that will open and close in a manner like the ashtray functions. Push to open.....push to close(click and holds shut).

Oooooh Hiiiiiite???? Are you seeing this? LOL.

This came out awesome man. If I had an E-brake I'd take one, but ill def keep this in mind for when my center console one cracks.

yeah that would be really awesome if done correctly

Not that I ever intend on selling my car, but, that would be an easy item to revert back to oem if necessary.

I could experiment with something like that. Worst case you could remove the ashtray and I could make a plate to fit that opening with holes for your heated seat switches and you could have a cover that snapped over that to conceal the gauges. Then if you wanted to go back to OEM you just pull the gauge panel and snap the ashtray back in place. How many gauges and what size holes?

real quick before we get off track, is there any interest in this stuff? If not, no big deal. If so I will start an order thread where you can put what you want and what color. I will take pics of colors and textures that will be available.

2 gauges for my application. 2002, what sizes are your gauges?

mine are 2 inch they are the equus from orielly, however my summit gauges are 2 and 1/16 inch
