Led grille

I know it wasn't so much my idea but I saw a couple people talking about it so credit to whoever thought of this..
Crap Camera the LEDS are white..

Started off with the black and chrome emblem but I used paint stripper to take off the paint then added black paint in the inside..

Added a reflective tape behind it.

Dremmel'd slits in the sides to fit the LEDS

wired in parallel

Took me about two days but that's just cause I had stuff to do.. I DONT think ill be doing the back.. lol its tough work working and soldering LEDS this small..

Kinda what I had in mind but painting the emblem and leaving the lincoln star clear. Then putting LEDs behind that so the star would glow.

Either way, looks awesome!

Probly wont have pictures on the car till later this week, got some halo's coming in will wire them up when they get here as well. Also now that I look at it.. I think I might just take it off and change the color scheme.. Thanks for the tip

think they are 0603 or something like that, they go inside xbox360's that's were I got them from. I am reversing the colors right now. Ill post pics up later with a night shot too

I was looking at some crisp white ones with a diffused lens and a 60* viewing angle. That should spread the light out instead of having "hot spots"

Well in person it doesnt look like that with the hot spots. I mean you can tell where they are coming from but nothing like in the picture. Wide angles should work well.. but GLuck getting any small enough to fit. Was thinking about just buying the black emblem here http://www.lskoncepts.com/store/lincoln-ls-custom-emblems-p-24.php

They are 5mm so they look like they would fit. Very expensive though. Like 1.22 a piece. If it doesn't look like the pics then it'll be alright.. better find a way to cover up your connections.. keep giving me hints..

What if you cross-hatched the backside of the clear emblem, sort of like a marker/tail light lens? That should diffuse the "hot-spot" look some.
