today i was changing my battery and i noticed that my trunk is dented in as is the gas tank cover. ive had the car for about a year, i bought it from a dealership, they provided me with a carfax that was clean, and never told me that the car had been wrecked. is there anything i can do?

Probably the first place to start would be the dealer. But they will more than likely refer you to CarFax. And CarFax will just tell you that they only report the information that they receive and that the previous owner probably did not report the accident and had it fixed at his own expense. But it never hurts to try.
 
plus, since you didn't bring it up to them right away, they will probably not help you as they have no proof you didn't do the damage.
 
Exactly - nothing you can do after a year - If you have comp and collision insurance, submit it as a hit in a parking lot -
