Well here is my question to everyone. Is this a car worth keeping for 10+ yrs? Right now i have a gen2 with 113k on it. Im debating wether or not to keep this car and put money into it when problems occur, or to sell it and go with another black gen2 with 60k or less. What can expect to get for my car, and what car i expect to pay for a gen2 with less than 60k orig miles.. Do you agree that this is a car worth holding on to. The cool factor is deffinately for me.. Would the money be better spent on say a rebuilt trans, engine, and some new leather or should i just opt for a diff lower mile gen2.. Your opinions are appreciated..

Is your Gen 2 Mark VIII paid for? You know what you've got right now, if you buy the lower mileage car you might get a good deal. Post some pics of your Ride here so people can see what it looks like and get their opinion on it you might get an offer for it. If you feel good about the lower miles Gen 2 buy it, just my opinion!!!

oh yea acctually first car that i bought and paid for myself.. (im still 20) As of now it runs flawless but does have a shudder, waiting for the funds to buy a new torque converter.. soo i dunno its deff somethin i would like to keep for quite some time, but i dont know if i should start with something with lower miles..

You can just replace the torque converter to cure the shudder and bank your money to wait for a better deal, to come along!!!

I agree, with Pepperman. However there are no guarantees machinery longevity, poop can and will happen. It is a better bet going with the less mileage. Should you be able to buy the new and keep the old for parts, You will really be ahead of the game.

Keep your Gen 2 and put money into it no point in throwing yourself into payments when you may inherit someone elses problems and plus the car will eventually get there in miles. You know your ride you know it's problems keep it and invest. I'm gonna be keeping my Conti for a long time even when I buy another ride i'll still have her gonna keep modding it and she'll be my little hot rod / show car when im done in a few years ;)

Keep it

I paid $6900 for my 98 with 57,XXX miles on it.
