Good morning, LVC family,

Today marks the 5th week of my 2004 Lincoln LS being down. Over the past couple of weeks I have had the same two re-occurring problems. 1) Check engine light due to O2 sensor and most recently 2) overheating.

1) check engine light- I have had the O2 senors replaced yet engine light remains on.

2) The big problem has been overheating. I have had thermostat and housing replace, radiator, water pump, coolant reservoir, and fan. Yet, as soon as I drive it starts to over heat. It was thought to be a cracked head yet there is no water in the oil.

Any suggestions you can offer would be great.

Did u bleed the cooling system according to the article in the tech section? It must be done verbatim.

is there any plastic cooling parts that have not been replaced yet?

Your problems may be related. Assuming you have a V8, the intake manifold would have had to be loosened to replace those parts. An intake leak can cause P0133 and P0153. Then, there's the bleed procedure, searchable on this forum.

Thanks a lot for all the advice. I will check to make sure these things were done. And yes my LS is a V8 and in reference to the the manifold I recently had the cover replaced as well as the gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and intake manifold cover.

replace all the cooling parts and get OEM if you replaced the coolant bootle with a aftermarket start there and get the OEM.

:mad:I couldn't agree more I bought an aftermarket coolant bottle and 4 months later, now, Im having the same problem  cold weather is keeping me from replacing it. Waiting for a sunny day.
