My 2000 Lincoln LS just glided by the 200k mark. have to say this is one of the best cars ive ever owned. the only things i had to replace on it besides brakes and tires is the tie rod ends, a lower ball joint, and an upstream O2 sensor, all my friends that have audies, bmws, and lexus have spend thousands in repairs and are over 75k behind me on the milage. Anyone else had this good of an experiance with their LS?

this has got to be false information... haha have you not experienced one misfire??

i've had the worse experience with this car, and its petty problems.. if you ask me ford should not have even made this car available to the public..

I can't say I am quite that lucky yet. I have about 113000 but I have not experienced as many of the expensive repairs everyone else does. One window regulator and a thermostat. That being said the alternator is starting to go out on me.

why? Mine is running fine too. People never brag/glorify about their car running good, which is why we never hear about the many people that are actually satisfied. It seems as if everyone has issues when they complain about them, especially on here where people are looking for help.

Great job on 200k bro.. be there in in another 110k :D

Cool, I am on 144,500 and better than ever. Put some pictures up of that 200k+ ride.

That does make me feel better. I'm convinced the car I have is junk. But if I sell it when the warranty runs out I think I'd like to get another one. hearing that not everyone has as many problems gives me more confidence. I think EmpireSix is right, I'm only hearing negatives from people asking for help.

That being said, I should get my car back from the shop today! 6 days after I dropped it off...

If you have a lift, the alternator job on the V8 is pretty easy. If you dont have a lift, and have to lay on your back on cold concrete reaching up, it's not fun. For $70 labor, Pep Boys handled it for me in 30 mins last time. Before that, the local Ford Dealership charged me about $180 in labor. There wouldnt have been a second time if I would have simply gotten a Motorcraft vs the cheap rebuilt at Advance/Autozone the first time. The "lifetime warranty" got me. Didnt realize you had to bring the old failed one in FIRST, and then they simply would give you another cheap rebuilt one. .

Yup, Autozone rebuilt alternator = CRAP

My 98 s-10 blazer had a bad alt. Replaced battery with the best replacement I could get, and ponied up like $130 for a rebuilt alt with a "lifetime" warranty. It lasted less than 30 days. I took it back, informed them that I would not accept a like model as replacement. They gave me a brand new alternator, no extra charge. I think they could tell I was ready to rip someone's head off. :D :D :D Haven't had a lick of problems with the new one.

I agree. Here is a thread I put down a while back.

Ironically a week after posting I had to replace #7 Coil.

my 2000 just turned 95xxx. With that said I had 2 window regulators, upper and lower manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, 6 plugs, 6 boot, 1 coil, ball joints, door lock, inside door handle, frt rotors, all pads, radiator hoses replaced. some other stuff, I can't remember.....

Congrats on the 200,xxx though... I 'd like to keep mine that long.

Man, mustang has a different bolt pattern (5x114 vs 5x108 for the LS).

damn oh well he said they where 108s least i didnt buy them yet, looks like ill be shelling out some cash to put some rubber and some 17s or 18s under it. might just buy them for the rubber $450 for a set of pirellis is a hard deal to beat, then ill just have to find some decent 17in rims.

about 4 months ago i was at the lincoln dealer getting ready to trade my ls in on a mkz and i couldnt bring my self to do it lol me and this car have been through a lot so im going to get it repainted, put in a indash dvd player and nav system maybe a couple monitors in the head rest and drive this thing for another 200k

Actually those Pirellis on the new Mustangs are cheap. My brother got them for around $80 online. All the other sizes are much more expensive. They are slightly taller than the size for the LS too. They're 235/55's to our 235/50's.

my 2000 Lincoln has xxxix and so far i changed one window regulator, ball joints, the oil lol,my air bag is light blinks,my advance traclight stays on,um....an sometimes my abs and e brake light stays on although i think thats the weird one maybe need to change my brakes who knows.Wow had a couple problems, guess i never noticed until its time to list them.

BUT IN THE END I STILL LOVE MY SEXY ARSE LS REGARDLESS TO WHAT.

01 Lincoln with 95k.
VC Gasket(under warranty)
Replaced Stock Headlights with fogging issue.(under warranty)
Had replaced thermostat and reservoir to fix freak overheating issue.(under warranty)
Replaced Motor like 20,000 miles ago.(NOT COVERED!!under warranty ~$12,000repair+lawyer happened 1 1/2 years ago still not settled)
Replaced both window regulators.
Replaced 2 coils.
My drivers seat is broken and i need to fix it.
Passenger side AC vent crumbled into pieces(WTF!) and i need to fix it.
Iv gone through 2 OEM batteries and this one is taking a crap.Upgrading my electrical system next week!

That being said. I love my car, and there is just too much invested into it to just sell it for anything, now if i can get a settlement then thats a different story.

Good going guys, my car just hit 71k, I hope it lasts as long as yours.

After this LS, I will be getting the 06 LS, thinking of it, its going to be a while, just bought the car and what not, but I just love the LS and them stop making it is really stupid.

Some of you guys have had pretty good luck so far. I bought an 01 LS8 sport edition with 89k on the clock. The previous owner had all coils replaced before selling the car to me. My car has 91k currently and have had to replace the coolant reservoir(cracked), grille chrome plating(bubled), fuel pump and a driver window regulator. I consider this to be the worst car I've ever had. I blame most on the previous seller since he neglected to perform routine maintenance to avoid costly repairs in the future. I discovered my fuel pump went out because the fuel filter had not been replaced (who knows since when) I found a lot of sediment in the oil filter(it looked like chocolate milk coming out). I've had some pretty crappy luck so far with this car...

Just venting.

All the stupid stuff happened to my 01 v6, at 92k miles the tranny quit. All the little things like headlights, clockspring, window regulators, pvc valve, total BS if you ask me. Now a tranny, and I drive my car like a little ol lady! WTF? But I do love this car and would never buy another car in my life if I could keep this one.;)
