So in Ontario, Canada, the law for tinting states:

"whereby the surface of the windshield or any side window to the left or right of the driver cannot be coated with any colour spray or other colour coating in such a manner as to obstruct the driver’s view of the roadway, or obscure the view from outside to the interior of the motor vehicle"

O.K. So there is no specified percentage. This is one of those "leave it to the officer's discretion" laws. Now I have had tint on my Grey Lincoln (2002) which was 20% front doors, 5% rear doors/back windows and not once was stopped for it in 4 years. I have had police cruisers pull up beside me at a Red light, no issues.
The tint really helped my eyes from the light. I find myself a bit sensitive to the sun. I also enjoyed the cooler interior temperatures. However time has come to tint my 05 Beige/Gold LS, and I wanted darker for the front - something around 15% or 10%.

I have searched online vigorously for any exemptions to the tint law such as medical notes from a doctor, but I can't find anything under Ontario law.
Does anyone know if a Doctors Note, presented to an officer would be valid?

I have read online that apparently police are less prone to hurassing drivers of classy or refined vehicles, and hurass more of the mustang/civic drivers.

As far as I know, in the US, your doctor gives you a prescription of sorts, which you bring to the DMV. The DMV gives you a certificate. You present that certificate when pulled over. I've never done it and could be a little wrong. I'd rather not get pulled over in the first place for it (NJ or NY is approving tint as a pull-overable offense now). I'll be doing 50 all around.

Do you happen to have blue eyes?

As for luxury vehicles being pulled over less (true or not), keep in mind the LS is aged and cheap now, so those Mustang/Civic kids can pick up your model easily. The more donked/riced/blinged LSes become as a whole, the less the LS falls into the "not pulled over" category

I do not have blue eyes. Light still bothers me a bit tho.

The dmv card makes sense. In ontario I cant find if we have that.
