Hello, I am new to this forum, by the way thank you for this website. I was able to diagnose my PCV elbow and how to change the valve cover gaskets because of this site. However now I am done.. Erased the codes and the only code I have left is the P1409 Code... From what I can tell from previous posts this has something to do with the hard plastic hose that goes from one valve cover to the other and tees to the front of the engine.. Am I correct? What should I look for in correcting this/.. Pics work better for me but a detailed description might suffice.. Thanks all!!

It should be an electrical problem with the EGR valve vacuum control solenoid or the wiring to it.

wheres is this item located? Is it the steel pipe that runs along the passenger side of the motor?

It is a V6 and yes the steel hose that runs down the passenger side is there.. Is that what is making the code? Some leak there? I did have to remove that from the upperintake when I changes the valve covers. The 2 bolts went on very hard... I wonder if that is where the leak is? Maybe something was not lined up??

Haha. Yes. I have had the code for over a year. I am getting ready to sell it and want to eliminate the code.

No, I stand by my prior statement. It should be an electrical problem. The PCM is saying that it's not seeing continuity through the solenoid coil of the vacuum valve that controls the EGR valve.
