lincoln ls torque converter hoe to drain

hi , my car is a jaguar s type 2000 which is a sister car to the lincoln ls , i have been reading this forum for a while an thought its great an that there would be a good chance that some one would have the answer i'm after , the transmission is a 5r55n ,i want to fit a transco shift kit an new flitlers solenoid & transmission , but i want to remove the old oil from the torque converter , there is a drain plug in the bottom of the bell housing , was wondering if ay one has done this before , thanks
