i have a 2000 lincoln ls with a thrown piston rod. i have found a 98 jag 4.0 supercharged motor, i know both are jag -v8's but how hard would that swap be and would it work, i need someone to give me some insight

Please see "Land Speed LS" in the HP section for more info. :D

there are many many threads on engine swaps.

in short - you cannot swap in a different engine because mating it to the electronics is next to impossible.

you may be able to use the supercharger pieces and move them onto a new LS engine - but it's certainly no direct bolt-on.

They were similar. The block was the same, except the LS used an all-aluminum version. I'm pretty sure that was the closest similarity they shared. Obviously displacement changed ever so slightly (the jag ajv8 was a 4.0L). I would be surprised if the heads were even similar.

If you think they are identical engines, they are not. It's not a direct swap.
