LLSOC fate? Trip to Wixom?

I was looking at the LLSOC and I see that it may be disbanded? The place is DEAD! I like the site and all and the tech articles are great but some of the posts I am reading are from 2002 and 2003! It looks like this site sucked that place dry? There are even some posts over there that suggest this. Will the LLSOC make it? They say that the membership is dropping like a rock and that Brian the site owner is going to turn over control of the site on January 1st to someone.

I think they should just make it a free site and sak for donations to keep it going. It would get more traffic.

I was planning on going on the Wixom "Mania" trip they have planned but I have my doubts they will be able to pull it off. Is anyone from here planning on going? It would be cool to see the Wixom plant and the last LS produced, but I doubt they can get it done? I will support it if they can.

Would people go back to the LLSOC if it was free???????

i would definatly join if it were free. weve gone throught this several times in the past year. its just so stupid to make people pay for something they dont know what theyre getting.

You know, you might try asking this question at LLSOC. We're not in the habit of discussing club business outside of the club.

If you think it's going to be disbanded, you might want to ask Quik what he thinks; he's one of LLSOC's new trustees.

I offered to buy the website - I was rejected without even discussion about the amount.

I dont know what their plans are at this point. But sooner is right. You should be making this discussion there.

Ken - IMHO - it is silly to cross post like this. There are already several threads on here about the LLSOC.

I'm sorry if I pissed anyone off over this post. No negative intent was made with the post. I thought it would be a good question here since this is the most popular place for LS owners and the LLSOC was at one time a popular place for LS owners. I like the LLSOC, don't get me wrong, and I am a paid member. Its just that after you read Brian's open letter that it really makes you think.

The reason I asked if people would "go back" to the LLSOC if it were free was to see what people thought about that. If the site were "free" it may survive? I disagree that this topic is an LLSOC topic and should be posted over there.....there are many LS owners over "here" that may use the site if it were free and I thought I would ask.

Again, please don't get me wrong. I like the LLSOC and this site....I just hate to see the LLSOC with no posts and traffic and I was wondering if it was because the site charges a fee.

Before I joined, there was 30-day free trial period. So people know what they're getting.

There are many new posts there every day. It is by no means a dead club.
