well actually the wife is, so i figured id ask who has what, likes, dislikes, simplicity, etc. also are the services free? she has it on her phone but it can be a PIA and there is a monthly charge. so i know alot of you guys have them so lets hear it.....

ninja edit...........cheapest too!!!!!

I got a Garmin Nuvi 260W on egay for $159 It was a refurb but they still have warranties. I started with a GPS for dummies unit but it wouldn't even show my street, my 50 year old street. Garmins are the best from everything I hear. you can also update them once for free on the site. They have awesome features too like points of interest including restaraunts , beer, billiards, liquor stores......Mine even showed me a "gentleman's club" in my city. all of the searches are based from where you are, i'm rambling....

i got a magellan 4040 off ebay for around 80 used. I love it. 4.3" screen, voice tells u when to turn, easy use...Check it out.

Tomtom allows you to download celebrity voices, including...Kim Cattrall.

Had a chance to mess with the Nuvi 750, a great unit. Consumer Reports has it rated pretty high as well, and Ive seen them on ebay for under $200 refurbed, about $250 brand new.

Has points of interest, mp3 player, picture viewer, can detect what city/street you are typing in, voice commands, speedometer and some other gauges, can tell you where the nearest hospitals/emergency services are based on your exact location, etc etc. Pretty much the only thing missing is Bluetooth, which the 760 has.

There is no charge to use any of the features, unless you are updating to the new yearly maps (which I believe is $59 or so).

I have the Garmin Nuvi 260 also. I got this model because it announces the street names, but I usually turn the voice feature off. Now that I have one I wouldn't want to go without one.

I got the GARMIN nuvi 200 and have no complaints would not going anywhere without it

ok thanks for the input, wife bid and won a nuvi 760. now shes waiting on the seller to contact her, dunno why something about the CC. she won last night around 11:30 and still no response....:shifty:

Garmin Nuvi 680- new at costco for $350. Bluetooth to stereo for phone, MP3 player, audiobooks, etc, MSN, traffic to avoid road work and accidents, shopping, food, lodging- tons of features. Sandisk slot for pic storage and display. Great unit- had it about a year. You'll like Garmin products.
