I am not doing the maf or anything just the tube. It is merely an asthetic mod. I am ordering come CCFL Rings like the ones in the angel eye kits for the end points to light the tube up. I am going buy an after market CAI to install afte it is done.

This is the product I am using:

* Tensile Strength: 7,000 - 9,000 psi
* Compressive Strength: 12,500 psi
* Water Absorption (saturation): 0.15%
* Heat Deflection temperature: 264 psi: 275-285F
* Flammability rating: Self-extinguishing

Other attributes of Excelon™ PC Clear Polycarbonate Tube include:

Sounds cool! Can't wait to see your end product!

Yeah, I can't wait either. I thought about it before my head hit the pilow last night after that it took all I could muster to make myself fall asleep.

I be sure to share my build information for others to try.

Hey what do you guys know about the bore diameter of intake tubes? The throtle bore is about 2.5" but the OEM tube doesn't have a uniform size it. So I am wondering if I go with a 3 to 3.25" tube if that would carry the air ok?

since the throtle body bore is 2.5" on the V6 should I keep with 2.5 across the plain. I do not see how incresing the tube diamenter could help at all as it is the air pick up, the filter that seems to be the most significant point of impedance.

The only thing is a larger diameter pipe will flow the air at a slower velocity, not a whole lot, but it will. A smaller pipe will increase velocity and may help the air fill more of the cylinder.

These are just physics concepts though, I don't think it will make a noticible difference.

BTW, I used Farco plastics for my acrylic tubing for my angel eyes. I believe there's on in Clearwater, and might have it in stock or on order if you haven't bought anything yet.

I see the reduced diameter builds a back pressure or in this case the same 2.5 across the pipe. I know how finicky these cars can be so i will search around a bit more.

excellent. man that would be great if they have a shop here in my area. I'd be happy just to deal with a FL based company. Although, I am working with some folks in the UK right now on CCFL rings and inverters and the price is very nice. About 80 USD for the Kit with retaining clips. They do a lot of beemer, audi and other European luxury car kits now but no American models as of yet.

I will check with the farco folks thanks for the lead!
