Looking for parking brake cables for a 2004 LS V8 (good condition) - anyone have a pair in good condition/not damaged?

Thanks

I have two pairs in good condition, but they are in use.
It looks like (you never really know until you try to order) Ford still sells the 05/06 cables. Surely they would fit the 04? Anyway, when I needed one, I got it from a local u-pull-it type junk yard for around $5.

Thanks joegr. You have 2 LS's?

I looked on Tasca for an '05 and it shows as "Discontinued".

I checked car-part.com for a junk yard parts search and didn't find anything (the word search may be an issue because it all drop downs to choose from).

Yes, an 04 and an 06. FordPartsGiant shows the cables as orderable for 05 and 06, but they may not really be. A number of times I have ordered a part from them only to get an e-mail saying that they can't get it anymore after all.

Thanks - I will try to order on the weekend and see what happens.

I was looking at front shocks/struts and they show a different part number than Tasca does for my VIN ('04 LS V8 Sport). Have you seen that before?

2 LS's...nice!

... Have you seen that before?...

Yes. I think that usually you still end up with the same part though. One or the other may be more up to date on the latest Ford part number. That said, I did have a weird one a few days ago. I needed a water pump and some other parts for my Ranger. I put my VIN in at FordPartsGiant, and they said the water pump was discontinued with no replacement. I knew that wasn't true, so I found the part number on the web. When I entered the part number on FordPartsGiant's site, they said "yes, that fits your Ranger." Anyway, I ended up ordering from Tasca because of a login issue. Tasca's water pump part number was one rev newer. The only way I could find some of the other parts at Tasca was by having the part numbers from FordPartsGiant. It can be a pain.

His and hers.

Ah nice! That's weird with the part number thing. I reached out to a fellow mustang club member who is in parts at a Ford dealer for help on comparing the part numbers.

Well, checked with FPG and they said they do not have the cables/cannot get them and will have to update their site to show "discontinued". I'll keep looking for used ones. Thanks for the heads up.
