Just venting a little I guess.. They had been cutting my hours pretty bad over the past month, was down to about 25hrs/wk, as I was walking out last night my manager told me I shouldnt bother coming in tomorrow. I told him to go ____ himself and that he would get canned too. Turns out the same thing had been happening to him.. Well, looks like its time to go back to 40's and Sailor Jerry's lmfao Im more pissed about this happening in the midst of my rear diff swap and right before the track opens.. Need another job ASAP
 
I know how ya feel. I lost my 35hr week job right after my roommate goes to prison and when I needa get my car ready for car shows.....not fun

that's why I'm working 3 part time jobs and hoping this 1 job I'm trying to get fall through cause it'll rake in about 1-2k per week.
 
I have been there man. Back in 2004 I lost a pretty decently paying job (considering I had no education at the time) at a small masonry company. The owner had pretty much chased off all his other employees through bad business. It was just me, him and his son left. I guess I should have seen the signs coming, but they had been in business for the past 20 years.
I took it as a sign to get out of that industry. I swore that if I could help it I would never put my family/household in a position where I could lose everything I had worked for for the last decade. 6 years later and I still don't make as much as I did then, but my job is pretty secure now. Looking back masonry really tore down my body, I need knee surgery now because of issues that started back then.
But all in all it was a learning experience for me and I am a better man having been through it. I went back to school at night and worked during the day where ever I could. I now am almost done with my second degree and my wife just finished up her Masters about a year ago.
So keep your head up man, things might be tough for a little while but you will come out alright.

I was told that once after arguing over the phone about my pay with my boss. I showed up anyway because there was too much :q:q:q:q that needed to be done. I kept my job for two more months and got the raise I wanted. I don't give up until they had me the papers saying get the eff out. You show up, they have to pay you until it's formal.
 
It's a tough market out there.

i feel ya as ive been unemployed for a month now, it aint so bad. i was paid book time so what ever the book said the job takes is what i get paid, and needless to say when there was no work i got no money so my check fluctuated alot, and ive had paychecks that were less than what my unemployment is
 
sorry for you loss.

I know the feeling, my whole division close down and boy it is devastating. Luckily thank goodness for unemployment, benefits up to two years does help out a bit. as long you dont live out of your means. i just recently got a lab tech position at Genetech here in the bay area and boy is it a rough trying to job hunt. lots of people with great credentials out their. just dont give up and have a positive outlook in life, change is good. i had placed my resume in one of the monster and careerbuilders wedpages and headhunter would actually look for you resume. gi ve it a chance and eventually will pan out. good luck on your searches.

Sorry about the job, that sucks. Dont they pay for your school and then pay you on top of that for living expenses and other stuff while going to school?

Thats pretty much what I just got canned from. Its :q:q:q:qty work and I hated it. Give it a couple months.
