Well this really sucks....I still have not found a job since I got laid off six months ago. nobody wants to hire a 41 year old when there are so many younger guys around. now I'm down to just my wife working, I am not giving up yet, but I could really use some good luck right now! I don't even want to think about having to sell my Mark VIII and Mustang :( so if anybody has an abundance of good luck right now, send a little my way 'cause I could sure use it right now!! ;) and don't take for granted what you have. be thankful every day! I had a great job with Boeing for 18 years, then they sold the place and 1000 of us got the boot.

Sorry to hear about that JC, I will keep you and your family in my prayers!!!!

I feel your pain may man. I was laid off from Delta Airlines last June 1st. This was after 14.5yrs as an AMT. My unemployment benefits ended 2 weeks ago. And I turned 38 last november. I should be receiving an application from the Pasco county Sheriff, fleet maintenance department. It would definately be nice to have 9 to 5 job, just 10 minutes away from my house.

My wife has the same problem, she end up working for her self of craiglist.org cleaning houses she charges $25 and hour. it's worked off and on .

I myslef have been disabled for 6 years now ,

You could aways try Frito Lay , I worked thier for 11 years ... they are always looking for new bodys , cuz of lots of new hires can't hang, Its good clean work

same thing happen to my step father after 15 years at appiled materals, he worked on everything even the space shuttle.... with 100's of worker under him.... end up working for walmart as a manger for about 2 years till he got back in his type of work.

Man that gotta hurt dont give up something will come through. Have you tried any contracting agencies. I moved here to Austin Texas 2 yrs ago to work at Dell and after 1.5yrs there they started laying people off and i was one of them. i just got online and posted my resume on as many sites as i could prayed everynight and a company called KForce called me now that they have me placed now all these other companies are calling. so dont give up keep on pushing. Its like all of our love for the cars we own ..when something breaks we make a plan and fix it pray for a plan and it shall be fixed. i will also keep you in my prayers. and best of luck to you and your family.

I am Sorry to hear this JC it's bad out there right now. It is not easy finding a job in the field you want. I have been looking for a Apprentice job with GM and Ford for awhile now. But most of them can't afford to hire me. I work odd jobs here and there to keep the money movin in, to keep the car runnin and pay for school.

Thanks for the prayers and kind words to all, I may have a lead on a job at Big Dog custom motorcycles here in wichita, they make custom choppers and I wuold love to work there! this would be a dream come true and it's something I would love to do as well! :)

sorry to hear that. good luck with the job hunt!

Hey, a friend of mine quit his job of 22 years, tried to start his business lost the business tied his 160 acres of wooded land to the business.

Lost the land was able to keep his home. Tried for 3 years to find something. Finally got a job working for a resort in the Wisconsin Dells area, and back on his feet.

There is hope, there are more Mark VIII's out there.

About 19 years ago I sold my prized item my Goldwing. I use to ride to the Pacific coast every summer. When money came back I was able purchase another Goldwing. I still have that one and 2 Mark VIII's Best thing about the Marks they are cheap to buy.

I have faith that you will find something.

PM me and I'll help brainstorm ideas, one to find a job the other to save your cars. I've helped friends before come up with good ideas. I know this is not a very good time for this countries ecconomy but I don't give up something will come along.

jc I hope you get the job building bikes,it can be a lot of fun.If not there will be a lot more jobs out there. But think about it things always have a way of working there way out.You know you dont get one job but then you find a even better job.But il prey for you.And hear this, every day above ground is a good day.

well I have decided to sell my Mustang and some other parts I have laying around, I have not driven it for about 3 months anyways and I think after 14 years I've owned it long enough. a friend of mine want's to give me $4500 for it. that's not to bad and that will keep me from losing my house for a while till that job at Big Dog comes through. easy come easy go. thanks again for the positive words and prayers to all! you people are the best!! this is just a hurdle in life and I pray that better days are ahead!! I'm not selling my Mark, I love it to much and I am kinda tired of the Mustang anyways.

sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, sorry to hear that you are selling the Mustang maybe you will get another Mark VIII :D when you go to work for Big Dog Cycles. Wil keep you and your family in my prayers!!!!

There building a Boeing Plant here for Vaught Industries to build parts for the 787, lots of business opportunities in this town, maybe you should check there site and put through an application, with your boeing knowledge already might be worth trying and maybe they'll pay for you to move just a thought

not yet, still waiting on the call. they are getting ready to open their new plant anytime now, then they are going to start hiring. can't wait, I think I will really like that kind work. :D
