Lost Without My Lincoln

I am lost without mt Lincoln, as it was one of the best automobiles I have ever owned (and believe me when I say that as I have owned 40 different cars over the past 30 years). I had a 1989 LSC and although it didn't look like much it ran great. That is until I started hearing what sounded like the belt squealing, in the morning, only to realize that it was the beginning of the end.
Within a week the squeal became a howl, confirming that I had spun a main bearing. It wound up throwing the flywheel into the starter when it locked up. I had no choice but to junk it as there were too many other issues with the car. But I am seriously interested in obtaining another one. So if anyone can direct me to a reasonably priced 1989 LSC, appearance is not as important as it's operation. I am located in California Central Valley, nearest city is Modesto.

It breaks my heart that you lost your Lincoln ... and it breaks my heart equally to see all of those good parts going away with it.

May it's surving good parts make thier way into the bodies of the remaining Marks.

Long Live The Mark

Thank You for your regards of the recent loss of my LSC. But fear not, there were not allot of salvagable parts left on my 89 LSC. I kept the fog lamps and other than that the only other thing I would have kept was the rims. The motor was toast (spun the mains) and the trans was not even the right one for the vehicle. The air ride was shot, thanks to Big O tires not turning off the air system before lifting my car off the ground. The air ride had a total failure which resulted in the destruction of the remaining suspension components. The interior was used up, due to my using the car like a pick up truck. And well you see the body, I was waiting 5 years to get it repainted. But overall I was quite pleased with my LSC and rate it as one of these best cars I have ever owned. For a stock (out of the box) car it was surprisingly fast, and would never spin the tires when punched from a dead stop, and it was not uncommon for me to travel at over 100mph when conditions allowed. Again I would seriously consider owning another LSC.

Very cool.

The good parts that I was referring to are the ones that are no longer available from Ford such as the alternator bracket, headlight switches, windshield washer fluid reservoir and the like.

When you want another Mark, make sure to hit us up before going to CraigBay :)

LSC Parts

My apologies, I forgot all about those parts. However I do still have the full electronic rear view mirror (with headlight dimmer). I also considered removing the headlight switch (which I altered in order to allow me to have my fog lamps on without having to turn on the headlights). I would have also liked to have removed the premium sound system as well as the keyless entry system. I find that the electronics cost more than anything. I was constantly engineering different things for the car, including an interlock for the starter circuit (after receiving a ticket for supposedly not wearing my seat belt) that prevented me from starting the car unless the seat belt was latched and if you unlatched the seat belt after the car was started it would shut off the ignition. Needless to say after presenting this to the judge my case was dismissed. Yes I do miss my LSC VERY MUCH.
