Hey guys ive recently replaced my rotors and pads on the front of my LS6 and i notice every time I wash my car im spending tons of time washing brake dust from the wheels. I had replaced the caliper pin on the left side and forgot to put brake grease in the boot.. I doubt that would cause excessive brake dust. I am stumped so Ive come here to try and figure it out... I am also changing the rotors and pads on the rear this weekend and looking to get some nice chrome wheels and dont want to spend a half hour every day cleaning brake dust off my rims... could it be the blue box raybesto pads i used?

Cheap Pads = More Dust

Spend a little extra and get Ceramic Pads.

even with good pads, this is a fairly heavy car with terrific braking... its gonna make some dust. but if you think you are getting a lot, then you definitely want to go with a real good ceramic pad* to minimize that.

also, if you have cheese grater rotors (slotted/cross drilled) then they are going to make a lot of dust no matter what pad you put on...

*sorry, not familiar with which pad comes in what color box, but I know raybestos makes all different kinds of pad material
