I havn't owned my 05 LS V6 even a year yet and have had the following issues as it just rolled over 70k miles.

1. Solenoid valve in the tranny replaced under 90day Warranty from the dealer I bought it from, Thank God!

2. IMT Valves oil leak, also done under 90day warranty about a month after the tranny issue.

3. 4 Coils failed, but after the 4th going bad and having to take off the intake I finally replaced them all along with plugs.

4. Dual Climate control valve

5. NOW just this past weekend my check engine light came on again but the car seemed to run fine, soon come to find out it now is throwing a P0420 code! AKA catalytic converter fail! Lucky for me I went by the Ford dealer and they said Ford warranties their catalytic converters 8yr/80k miles!

What's next, any guess's? :soapbox: Sure wish it would treat me as good as I treat IT! Hell I even bought her new shoes this past winter! haha

^Lol made me laugh so hard reading that. I LOVE those commercials!

OP I feel your pain. Just spent couple hundred fixing all the coils/plugs/oil change and now I don't have A/C. Could have sworn I had it before I took it in there and now I don't. So its a mystical hunt for the culprit. Perfect timing for the 90* were finally having

Not just Ford, everybody does. It's federal law. However, many dealer are creative at getting out of honoring the warranty as there are many loopholes they can use.

The converter failure is likely a direct result of letting the misfiring coils go for too long (probably the owner before you, not blaming you).

Unfortunately, the issues you list are common for the LS. They shouldn't be, but it is what it is.

What's next? I suspect that you will be replacing your degas bottle and some/all of the other plastic cooling system parts. Also, there's the PCV valve and associated plumbing.

Not to hijack this thread but I see you are in Lawrence Ks. I have been trying like hell to get a few of us together for a meet of some sort. Are you interested?

normal

all that stuff is normal failure for the LS. Just replace it.

you should prepare for.......

window regulators - bad plastic clips, order new ones on ebay
alternator
fuel pump
cooling pipes and degas bottle
ball joints
vacumm hoses and more
once everything is fixed, your good for another year.

once I get my abs sensors delivered I am proud to say there will be no more dash lights or error messages in the message center, I started with the dash lit up like vegas a few weeks back.

so yeah watch for abs/advancetrack warnings as well.

I wouldn't mind, what part of Kansas? I honestly am not sure how much longer I'll have my LS. Love the car but starting to get old having something new go wrong every other month.

Yeah, these commercials are the first thing that pop in my head when I feel a bad coil.

"You suck! Why can't you keep your coils in your pants? Whatever, but when I get you fixed with some nice new plugs and coils, you'll feel like sex."

Then I pet her on the hood.:shifty:
