You'll have the Spindle removed already, right? That was done for the upper ball joint removal process....

You're not saying what year TC here, but the procedure is the same for almost every one regardless. You'll need the TWO ball joint presses and jigs, one for removal, and one for replacement. The tools look like heavy duty "C" Clamps, and the jigs (or cups) are specific to the job (vehicle application). Some press kits will include universal pushers and recieving cups that will work fine.

Caution should be used with cup fitment, as boot tears can occur if the tools don't fit correctly. Always wear eye protection.

Some older applications require drilling out mounting flange rivets, and replacing them with included bolts. In either case, always inspect the area where the new ball joint will be pressed into, looking for stress cracks.

Inspect the welds on the A-Arms as well, I can't remember if it's the upper or lower arm, but there was a recall for failing welds.

IF YOUR TC IS 90-96 CHECK WITH DEALER FOR MAJOR SAFETY RECALL OF LOWER BALL JOINTS, REPLACEMENT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE.
