Hello all,
I have read previous threads about the LS alarm (http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=5129&highlight=alarm), but when testing my alarm today, I found that the alarm disarms if you press the lock button twice. I always use my remote start to lock my car, and I always press it twice to get it to chirp. I always assumed that the chirp meant it was armed. Today, I rolled my windows down, pressed the lock button once, waited 20 sec then opened a door and the alarm went off (this works for any door). Then I pressed the lock button twice to get the chirp, waited 20 sec then opened a door and the alarm does not go off (does not work for any door). The LED on the dash pulses either way the car is locked. This means that 98% of the time that I have parked my car and felt secure by the chirp, my alarm system was not armed. Is this how its supposed to be? Does anyone know of a way to tweak the system so that when the alarm is armed, I hear the chirp? :feedback It seems that I have had a false sense of security for a while.
