I'm sure it's here but I didn't find it. My wife's 2004 LS V-6 has the original battery in it (we don't drive this car much, 41,000 miles on it) and it cranks like new but I'm concerned about it. Is this battery available after market or dealer only?
Thanks in advance.

a vented motorcraft 750 seems to work the best (not sure if v6 makes a difference )

... dealers seem to be the cheapest on them $120ish IIRC
Exactly. The Ford/Lincoln dealer may be the lowest cost and will have the correct battery with the correct vent connection. If you must go elsewhere, it must be a group 66 battery, and you must reconnect the vent tube.

I keep temping fate mentioning it but my 2000 with 185K still has the original battery. Started it last winter after sitting overnight when it was -25F in the morning.

Apparently, around here it gets too hot even in the trunk for a battery to last nearly that long. Must be nice...

Ya, definitely should take the time to make retailers/installers liable for selling the wrong battery. Dude sold me my car with just any battery, nice and new, but needed it to crank over reliable since it was 15 years old and mom never drove it for near a year.

I can confirm OEM motorcraft is the cheapest, I am a fan of interstate, but availability and cost for our model was not worth it.

Interstate quality is not worth the price ever since they moved manufacturing to Mexico and China several years ago.

lol, good ol' china issue. Didnt know that, thanks for the tip. Ya, last time I bought a battery before now was definitely pre-2k! Weird that china made battery would be more expensive, musta got the business model from Apple, max profit for lower cost goods.
