Hello, I am interested in looking for and LS, 2000-2002 8 cyl probably. Just wondering what to look for on them and what problems usually arise in these cars. I have had Mark VII's and VIII's, so now time to go newer.

Thanks

Nick

Bad coils and valve cover gaskets. Other than that great cars!

Like said before, bad coils, valve cover gaskets, ball joints, sway bar (bushings), window regulator, rear view mirror, cheap door handles, and some other minor things. If you go with an LS get an 02+. im selling mine it has caused me nothing but trouble and 4k worth of repairs.

^+1 Stay far away from 2000-2001. Do your hom work on the value of the car ata nada.com and kbb.com. I think 2002 is the sweet spot for the LS.

2003 is where they really started making some positive changes. More hp, no hydraulic fans, etc. I think that's when climate controlled seats came in too isn't it?

I think I pay $1600 for three cars. Of course I don't drive to/from work (walk to train) and I have max liability but no other coverage.
