Just got hold of a nice 02 V6 Lincoln LS with a measly 80,000 miles. It sat for a while so needed some attention, but I enjoy working on my cars.
Already got a few useful insights from some of the posts on these boards. I find there is a lot of how-to information that I've come to expect from such a site that seems to be missing for the LS. Recon there aren't too many Lincoln drivers that are DIY enthusiasts. I'll be busting out my camera for a few write-ups if it's permitted here.
The front end components were trash in my car from dry rotted boots, but I pulled the hub arms and took them to a machine shop to have fresh ball joints pressed in (lots less expensive than replacing the arms). The tie rods, upper arms, and end links were a breeze and I like the handling the setup provides.
Next weekend (after the 4th) I'll swap out the engine & trans mounts - which are already in hand, along with the rear links. Once it's all ship-shape in Bristol fashion I'll hand the keys over to my daughter for her college commute.
And Yes, it was a bargain.
