So...went to a party today in Bellport, Long Island. Was a great day to be out and doing some high-speed cruising in the LS. Left the party close to dark and started driving east for a bit before hanging a louie to get back to the Long Island Expressway. Of course I had to start looking for a Mickey D's and before you know it, things went

Turned off the main road and immediately saw a Gen 1 LS. Two blocks up, saw another Gen 1, this was a black sport. Half a block up was a white Gen 2. And a bit further, sitting in the road with a couple other cars, was a nice Autumn Red Gen 1 just like mine (Ok technically I'm Cordovan). I counted 4 or 5 LSs within a few blocks of a street that I just happened to turn down, crazy. Saw more of 'em there then I've seen in NYC all year!

Would have loved to stop and check em out but...had to go home to the safe streets of Queens...;)

Not exactly sure what the point of your post was???

Before you know it, things went, absolute ghetto! I :q:q:q:q out of laughter.

Don't get the point of the post either I past LSs on the daily but don't post about 'em. Can't say I've seen a roaming gang of LSs in their natural habitat so my reaction to seeing that is unknown.

so wait what?

there was a neighborhood full of LS and it was in the ghetto?

word!

Lol, man tough crowd.

Yesterday I ended up in a triangle of LS' two on the other side of the road and me. Kinda weird. Thought about throwing the deuces but they were clearly old people who thought nothing of their cars... sigh...

I give older folks the "nod" all the time, every once in a while, they nod or wave back. kinda makes my day most times.

Okay. I will say it. The op's post was not exactly a subtle shot toward where he was and who he felt may have owned the vehicles. This nonsense pops up on here from time to time and basically irks the piss out of me because it has "undertones" written all over it.

Other than the the statement that it was the most Ls'es he had seen together, the rest of it served no purpose to help better clarify where he was geographically located.

He simply could have said whatever general area it was and left it at that.

Marcredd: if you want to take a PC stance on this, delete your signature text and I'll take you seriously.

Or you can take it for what it is: offhanded humor from a long night, coupled with more LS cars in a few suburban blocks than I've seen in a city of 8 million people. I'm out every day and rarely see any of them.

There were no "undertones": I was in a complete craphole surrounded by a bunch of beautiful LS cars. Seemed strange so I thought I'd post. I've lived in areas like this so let's not start playing the socioeconomic cards. C'mon man, it's the weekend, don't take it so seriously!

My observation of people that own LS's are mostly 3 types as of 2012

-Older people that bought the car brand new
-18-20something year olds that buy them because they are cheap luxury cars
-"ghetto" people trying to act Rich in first gen run down LS's.

The OP witnessed the 3rd type. (they probably just looked nice because of poor lighting :D)

No card being played. Simply put, what did the avatar you inserted add to your post? Intentionally or not, it was received as a slam. Do you insert avatars when you see an LS in the "burbs" as well? If so, I stand corrected and apologize. If not, then it was what it was.....a slam of where you were.

As far as my Sig, it is a response to another member(who I am very cool with) who has a Sig that is equally as direct.

There a bunch of run down gen 2's on the road as well. But I am a 41 year old with a gen 1(purchased when I was 36) in very good condition. So what does that make me? LOL.

No... :shifty: ... ... yes... :(

Lol, but seriously, yeah thats really about right. I'm 22 and I got it because it's a cheaper luxury car, and I was still in love with it from when my mother had one on lease. I got lucky and got a '06 though. Speaking of which... the body should be cooled down enough now. TIME FOR SOME WAX!!! :p

:D)

i bought mine at 19. was an impulse buy. first car i saw that looked good and had enough room to fit a newborn's car seat lol. i knew it was a lincoln, but didnt consider all the "upgrades" it has compared to my sentra:D

Hey now, Im only 20 and I love this car and take care of it unlike anything else! Fell in love when I saw it sitting on the dealer lot and took it home that night, not knowing what kinda mess I was getting myself into :0 haha. This is my first car I picked out and bought all by myself.

Look man, if you took it as a slam my apologies, certainly wasn't meant to be offensive.

And regarding your ride, I bought this 2000 LS when I was 34, and it is in pretty sorry shape (partial salvage title from front end wreck and replacement engine, just put over $2,000 into it for repairs, and the purchase price was $4,500) so certainly not trying to sound superior here :)

No... :shifty: ... ... yes... :(

Night at the Roxbury?

Anyways I fit the 18-20 somethings. This car was in my price range, was also looking at Grand Prixs, either GTPs or GXPs. Those actually were out of what I had to spend. Needless to say I'd take this over any of them anytime.

LOL! I didn't take Turboguy's comments too seriously. Anybody who's lived anywhere innercity has had an "ABSOLUTE GHETTO" moment. Unless they're lying to everybody, & themselves. By the way...I saved that avatar for future use. Think it'll come in handy someday.;)
