I'm having a weird recurring problem - I drive my LS every day about 30-40 minutes to and from work, and all around town with not a single problem. I can be driving for an entire day, starting and stopping, for several hours, without issues. However, every single time I have a sustained drive of 3+ hours my car refuses to start. Since I bought it in March, it has totally refused to start on a trip to Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Columbus & Chicago. It starts after about 10 minutes of repeatedly turning the key.

It doesn't attempt to turn over at all - just absolutely no response, and ocassionally the security light will rapidly flash. Then all of a sudden it will start with no hesitation. Theres definitely a correlation to the amount of time the car is continously ran, as it has never done it even when driving 8 hours with shut offs in between, only immediately after 3+ hour drives.

Any ideas?

...Any ideas?

Since you describe it as being a PATS problem, why don't you get the PATS error code and narrow it down?

When you have the issue...
Turn the key to run.
Notice the rapidly flashing PATS light.
Wait for it to stop rapidly flashing (takes a while).
Now, it will flash out a two digit code a few times (some flashes, pause, some more flashes, pause, ...).

Count the flashes and post back what two digit code it is flashing out.

Its actually not a code, it blinks rapidly 10-15 times then stays solid, but it doesn't do that every time. I don't think thats the root problem, I think its doing that because I am turning the key on and off like 30 times. I've been wrong before tho lol.
