I have 'searched' for LS wheel bearings and read many threads on the subject, however, I am a little confused. Apparently you have to replace the entire 'hub' on the rears. But after reading the threads I'm not sure about the FRONT bearings. Can they be replaced without having to buy the hub as well.
Thanks for replying with your knowledge on this subject.

dude im gettin my wheel bearings fixed asap soo ill let you know what was needed...i get this kinda loud humming/vibration from the front part of my LS...i think its just the wheel bearing and my dad took it too his workan they said it was the bearing...but i seen other posts where people repaired the bearing and experienced the same noises...so im hopin thats what it is...ill let you know tho because im gettin the bearing fixed soon

Front and rear are the same deal, you have to replace the whole hub assembly. From what I can tell though the front bearings look a lot easier to replace than the rears. But I wouldn't know because I've never done it.

i have done my bearings all the way around. the front are a hub assembly with a sensor, fairly easy to do if u take the control arm off and put it in vise....not neccesary but you have more room to work with. i loosened my hub bolts till they had 3 or 4 threads engaged and hammered on them lightly in a cross pattern with a brass rod & hammer and the hub came loose. the rear are pressed into the knuckle...they look like big skateboard bearings. i took my knuckles off and took them to the ford dealer to have them pressed in. fronts u can get for $91ea + shipping and the rears are $23ea + shipping at rockauto.com...thats where i got mine

I had the same problem a few months ago. I had to replace my right rear bearing. I bought the whole hub assembly from team ford for $367. I didn't won't to risk the chance of someone trying to press a new bearing in and mess it up and it don't work right. Then that's more money.

thats why i took mine to the dealer to have 'em pressed. they SHOULD know better than most how to deal with our kind of parts. if i dont do the work myself, the dealer is the only one i trust. these ls's are tricky at times, especially with all the aluminum stuff. they pressed my ball joints, and rear wheel bearings...$20each.

i just had my hub bearings replaced yesterday. the noise is completely gone!
and its no longer shaky
